The interesting  train journey to BHU Varanasi ,the stay in the campus, arriving for  the written test at BHU more than half an hour late & writing the exam with special permission from director, the interview, journey back to CMC Vellore etc. are all described in detail in this book. The events described in the book  are about half a century old , but still relevant. It could be  published in  the year 2016 only due to various reasons.

It has a well planed   beautiful campus too. For a medical man it is important because the great Indian surgeon, Sushruta  practiced surgery in and around Varanasi during the vedic period. Every body in medical field knows his in-depth  knowledge , keen observations, great surgical skill and  astonishing ability in tackling surgical problems. The fact is that he was also a good physician and his observations about diabetes are remarkable. The medical institute originally started as Ayurvedic study center is now a full fledged modern medical institute with facilities for postgraduate studies in almost all subjects in modern medicine. For a serious  student who wishes to study, it is a well equipped student friendly  good residential university. Of course one should be focused to his subject of study and should be  able to shut the eyes towards all political diversions. The institute of medical science is being further developed and elevated  to  one of the  all India institute of medical sciences. Recently the city and university acquired lot of political importance because  the Indian  prime minister was elected to the parliament from this holy city.
